Temperatures are finally rising, as are our spirits! Spring has finally graced the Midwest which means coats are no longer necessary and riding boots are to be replaced by spring sneakers and flats. Having the right spring spirit is often shown through our outfits. This can be done in a variety of manners such as the use of bright colors or fun prints and patterns. This week’s Fashionista is ready for spring as is her outfit. Her bold colored denim pants brightens up her look and makes her outfit come to life. A more muted top is a great pairing with louder bottoms and the jean shirt is great to layer with for the spring temperatures.
Dressing head to toe is still just as easy even without a great pair of boots. Flats spice up an outfit by having a pointed toe, being two-toned or oxford flats with cutouts to give the classic shoe a spin and edge. Canvas sneakers however, are a great alternative to a flat and bring just as much fashion to your outfit. Not to mention the added bonus of making your walk from classes that much more comfortable. Although a white or solid colored canvas shoe make a statement, try making a purchase of a printed sneaker. These will go great with your colored denim as seen on this week’s Fashionista. They add an extra element to your ensemble and draw the attention away from just your bold pants. This Fashionista’s Urban Outfitters pair gives off a safari-esque appearance. The desert color that’s used as well as the pattern that comes off as almost a zebra print in blue and brown colors makes this sneaker have a life of its own. These deeper and cooler colors balance out the hot and bold color of her red pants.
This combination of spring clothing is perfect for a day on the quad with your friends. Her accessory canvas sneakers, are easy to take on and off to run your toes in the fresh grass, as well as her jean shirt which is worn to layer on and off as the day goes on and fluctuates in temperature. To complete this look try a gold or metal necklace like this one from Madewell.
