Even though it’s April, in Pittsburgh it’s common for the weather to still be a little chilly. For the cooler days, throw on these Dr. Martens; maybe the chicest comeback combat boot there ever was.
I spotted this Fashionista coming out of her apartment. On this rainy day, combats aren’t every girl’s first choice, but she pulls it off with H&M leggings, Brandy Melville white T-shirt and oatmeal colored zip-up, H&M burgundy mini top and vintage jewelry that she just brought back from Israel. Her trendy Burberry umbrella was the perfect addition for this drizzly day. What I love about her whole ensemble is the subtle detail she sported. She stayed with one color palate but added the burgundy undershirt and matched her Docs to it! Also, the browns and reds in the umbrella complement the outfit as well.
This particular style of Dr. Martens are the perfect mix of edgy and girly; throw them on with a pair of ripped denim for a grungy look but with a cute flowy black dress like this one, a Fashionista will look a little bit more feminine. Another look that is more spring time appropriate while still rocking the combats is to wear them with shorts. Try a tighter high-waisted pair like this with a tank, or this pair of cut-offs paired with a loose T-shirt for a more relaxed spring/summer time look! A transitional piece to throw on with either of these looks is a pair of textured tights or thick socks. A pair of tights like these with high-waisted shorts is a smart pairing while the temperatures are still a little chilly.
Pairing Dr. Martens with jeans, a skirt, dress or shorts will create an edgy, feminine look on campus that will sure to be a head turner!
