Feminism and edge have come together in the most perfect union with the rock-stud flat. With Valentino paving the way with this trend, rock studs on any accessory adds a little bit of girly and a little bit of cool to any Fashionista’s look. The studs are a chic addition to the detail on bags, boots, headwear or sunglasses; however, the trend that many girls have adopted is the studded flat. Adding a little bit of edge to your flats is the perfect way to amp up an dress for date night, skirt and blouse for lunch, or ripped jeans and tank for class.
This Fashionista stood out to me first because of her trendy black and white patterned leggings from Forever 21. When I got a better look at her outfit, her tone on tone rock-studded, red Gucci flats stole the show. They are girly ballet flats, but because of the studs, a little edge is added. This Fashionista’s entire outfit embodies the juxtaposition of edgy and girly; her acid wash American Apparel infinity scarf, daytime LBD, two tone Rebe jacket and, of course, the flats, all add elements of both edge and feminism. I also loved her use of accessories for this look. Her Ray-Ban glasses and vintage jewels give her look a hipster twist. Overall, the combination of styles this Fashionista drew from created one beautifully eclectic street style look.
If you’re a Fashionista who is looking to add a pair of rock stud flats to your shoe collection, try this pair from J.Crew. This pair is a little preppier but still edgy with the studs and stripe combination. With a pair of cut off denim and a simple top, you can’t go wrong! If you’re a Fashionista who is looking to make an edgier statement, try this Jeffrey Campbell “Daisy” flat. They are two tone and studded, and the pointed toe would go great with black or denim cigarette pants.
Studs have been seen on not only shoes this season, but also bags and accessories. Although a little pricey, this Christian Louboutin Sweet Charity studded bag is one of my favorites! I love the cotton-candy whimsical colors, the big bow and of course, the studs! With a summery white dress, this bag would make a chic but feminine statement!
