Texas is infamous for a few things: big hats, big boots and big-time heat. This can limit a Texan Fashionista’s wardrobe, especially when all she wants to wear is a swimsuit.
Unfortunately, a bikini typically isn’t a socially acceptable outfit, and so our southern Fashionista found a more practical way to beat the heat. She paired a basic blue tank with some high-waisted shorts. The studded details on the front of the shorts and the faded, destroyed pockets lend the look a hint of grunge. She also chose to add a few silver, vintage bracelets that are popular in the south.
Few shoes are pervasive enough to appear in both our summer and winter wardrobes, but the short boot is a sure contender. Booties are versatile because they aren’t as bulky as riding boots, an unwise choice in the Texas heat. This Fashionista chose a pair of biker inspired ankle boots with studs to continue in the same vein as her shorts.
Ankle boots can be paired with a variety of looks. Match them with shorts and a tank like this Fashionista for a hip, casual style that’s ideal for festivals. When worn with a circle skirt and chiffon blouse, you have the perfect outfit for going out to dinner or even casual internship wear. If you’re a fan of the boho, maxi dress vibe, pair ankle boots with a slit maxi skirt and your favorite band T-shirt or crop top. They also translate to fall and winter and are easy to throw on with a pair of skinny jeans or printed leggings.
