ACCESSORIES REPORT: Raining Caps and Boots

Accessories Report

Nebraska’s weather can be bizarre and irregular to say the least. The sudden rainfall left Lincoln’s campus with a bit of gloom. That was until this week’s Fashionista, Julia, stepped out in her bright tangerine Hunter Boots. Most of us don’t think to dress up rain boots, but she didn’t sacrifice any style due to the inclement weather.

It can be tough to dress for a rainy day because there are so many things to consider, from what type of material you wear to staying dry. When rain boots are paired with the right accessories, rubber can look effortlessly chic. Similar to this Fashionista’s look, find a pair of boots that are colorful. Bad weather can dampen your day and maybe your mood, so go a little wild with your boots, there are endless varieties of pairs to fit your sense of style. Hunter Boots offer a large choice of colors and I believe are the perfect boot to transition from winter to spring.

For a classic look, pair your rubber booties with a trench or pea coat similar to today’s Fashionista, who stayed stylish and warm in a black pea coat, colorful scarf and a cream beanie. While the bright boots caught my eye first, once up close it was the cream beanie that really grabbed my attention. Attached was a flower that gave a fun and flirty look much different than the average beanie. Of course you can’t go wrong having an umbrella for a rainy day. There are countless adorable and inexpensive umbrellas out there to make you stand out on your campus.

Spotted: Rubber hit the runway when Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton collaborated to create rubber boots, loafers and totes that are built to keep you high and dry.
