As the long winters of Wisconsin drag on and the days are filled with darkness, any bits of color brighten the day. When first spotting this Fashionista, I noticed that she sported a brightly colored scarf. However, upon further examination I realized that she dared to be bold with her prints. Instead of combining just one print to spice up her outfit, she decided to pick two to complete her look.
Using a black cardigan as a solid backdrop, she paired both a cheetah print belt and the floral scarf together. If prints are ever going to mixed and matched, it’s a great idea to use a neutral palette when doing so. The black cardigan and the natural tones in the cheetah print offer a wide array of options for other accessories. By choosing the floral scarf, she catches other students’ attention and adds that necessary pop of color to her outfit. Finally, the Fashionista added a little bit of class to her look by coupling the prints with her bow earrings. The classic studs are the perfect way to refine any look and are able to dress up an ensemble while still enhancing that whimsical flare.
Adding prints to your wardrobe could be the ticket to a successful outfit. Although many may be concerned about where to even begin with prints, let alone pairing multiple together, it should not be an intimidating feat. My advice would be to begin with simple, classic prints like polka-dots or stripes and then adding a pop of color. Colors can appear in a belt, scarf, shoes or bag. After feeling more comfortable with those prints you can graduate into mixing and matching colors, designs and styles. Let your clothes be your creative outlet and dare to be bold with prints!
