Geometric patterns are clean, sleek and ultimately modern. They offer us a vacation from the usual floral or stripe prints. There is something very distinct and sharp about geometric shapes that translate so well into workwear. This Fashionista’s pair of geometric patterned pants almost played an optical illusion on the eye! From afar, I thought they were a simple gray color, but as I got closer, I realized the wonderful pattern.
This Fashionista wore a Ralph Lauren sweater blazer, a pair of Valerie Bertinelli printed ankle pants, a pair of nude flats and classic pearl accessories. Nude colored shoes are perfect because they always make your silhouette longer. This Fashionista’s flats acted as an extension of her legs. Whether your nude shoes are flats or heels, they are sure to make you look long and lean, which is something all women desire. Fortunately, neutral colors do not take away from other prints or highlights in your ensemble. Although her pieces were of a common color palette, I really believed they that her flats added to her overall look.
Ankle pants and bold geometric patterns are extremely on-trend this spring season, and this Fashionista’s pants definitely fit the bill. Ankle pants go great with nearly any spring shoe: wedges, flats, gladiator-inspired sandals or heels. I also loved the formality of her navy blazer-inspired sweater. It was all the comfort of a knit, with the structure of a blazer. The Ralph Lauren emblem and gold buttons even added a sense of royalty. You can never go wrong with a combination of navy, gold and pearls.
If you are in search of a comfortable, yet dressier, outfit, this Fashionista’s is a great reference. Throwing on a white V-neck is quite easy and instinctive early in the morning, but this Fashionista completely, and comfortably, dressed up this basic piece. Her sweet pearls topped off this lovely preppy outfit–perfect for class or even an internship. She wore a pair of pearl stud earrings, a simple stack of pearls and a charm bracelet.
