ACCESSORIES REPORT: Pop, Lock And Wrap It

Accessories Report

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Fall fashion is in full swing, and, though I am obligated to say I hate the cold weather, I actually love the cold weather. If you’re not winter’s number one fan, there are some things that make the cooler weather a little more bearable. And no, I don’t mean book a holiday to Cuba. I’m talking about all the chic fall accessories that motivate you to get up and ready to tackle the snow.

If you’re not feeling like covering up with a beanie but still need something to protect your ears, knitted head wraps are here to save the day! For the days when you’re having a good hair day and want to show it off, head wraps are my favorite accessory to reach for. Additionally, they’ll keep you warm and fashionable this season. Not only are they great outwear accessories, they are also just great headband accessories in general.

When choosing a knitted headband for the season, opt for a neutral colour which will be versatile with a variety of coat and scarf colour combinations. Black, gray and brown are all great colours to have in your closet, which can be worn on a daily basis. Keeping the student budget in mind, these headbands can be found in a variety of stores, prices ranging for five dollars to a couple hundred. Depending on what specifically you’re looking for, these are a student-friendly accessory. And hey, if the budget allows, why stop at one? Buy a couple! And if you’re more of a DIY Fashionista, knitting one of these bad boys wouldn’t be a bad idea either.

I spotted this Fashionista on campus who knows how to make layering for the cold look chic. She paired her gray headband with an oxblood scarf and a dark green printed jacket. I love the contrast of colours. It reminds me of the holidays. Additionally she paired black tights with a pair of black riding boots. To keep her ensemble on trend for fall, oxblood lipstick is the perfect finishing touch. Overall, her look is very bohemian, great for a day walking around campus.

Spotted: Chanel pre-fall 2011 collection showcased a dainty headband to contribute to the overall bohemian look.
