ACCESSORIES REPORT: Oops!…I Wore Denim Jackets Again

Accessories Report

Either the fashion trends of the 2000s absolutely sucked, or those of the ‘90s were just too good to become permanently extinct. Let’s face it. From crop tops, to overalls, to high-waisted jeans, the ‘90s are making a comeback bigger than Britney Spears in 2010. When you really take a look at it, no one is complaining about it either. These styles are being incorporated into our modern looks, and it’s looking pretty dang stylish. One of the most useful comeback accessories of the ‘90s is the classic denim jacket.

Denim jackets are the perfect accessories for the springtime. It’s still not too hot that a jacket isn’t necessary, but it isn’t too cold that you’ll suffer hypothermia from just wearing it. They look mad fly paired with basically anything except denim bottoms of the same wash. Wear it over your bold and colorful flirty spring dresses, or pair it with a white lace tank top and colored shorts. It’s so simple and classic that it’s versatile for any ensemble, and it can easily be accessorized. Think the denim jacket won’t be your staple best friend this season? As if!

Besides the classic denim jacket, it is designed in a series of ways. This summer, invest in a denim vest. Think Julianne Hough in Footloose. Throw it over a tank, add a long necklace and slip into colored denim. Or, get a cropped denim jacket to wear with flirty dresses. This way it still allows your fantastic figure to be visible. Some jackets are also designed with extra patterns or lace, so don’t be afraid of adding some embellishment!

This Fashionista looked dope pairing her denim jacket over a gorgeous lace, layered maxi dress. The colors worked perfectly, and it kept the chilly breeze out. Her ensemble presents the perfect outfit for those 60-degree days. I absolutely loved her matching jewelry that gave a pastel pop to the outfit. The layered maxi dress gives you an idea of how the denim jacket accentuates your figure while wearing either maxi dresses or short sundresses. The thin belt literally ties the outfit all together. Fashionista’s ensemble is the bomb!

Had this Fashionista’s dress been shorter, it would’ve been adorable paired with a cute pair of colored wedges to give it a statement look or a pair of cowboy boots for the ultimate concert look. The denim jacket is versatile for whatever type of outfit you’re wearing. Whether you’re going for a look that’s preppy, edgy, boho, anything, the denim jacket will be flattering and useful. Looks like we’ve found the staple item for the spring and summer.
