Being home for “winter” break in sunny Southern California, it felt a lot less like winter and more like the summer days of tanning, short-shorts and flowy tank tops. This Fashionista’s ensemble is the epitome of boho-chic, as if she crawled out from a Free People catalog or is sprawled out on the lawn of the Coachella music festival. From her loose-fitting tank top, to her high-waisted denim shorts and oversized sweater, this Fashionista exudes vibes of a free spirit, and I cannot help but soak up the sun while enjoying her summer-inspired look!
Having been bundled up while in North Carolina, coming home to 80-degree weather and the privilege of wearing shorts again is quite a refreshing treat. What I love so much about this Fashionista’s outfit is her high-waisted denim shorts. Besides her shorts being cropped, the addition of rips along the front creates a visually appealing, distressed element. However, I find it appealing that her shorts have vintage qualities without looking like they were uncovered from a trunk of ’80s clothing. This Fashionista creates a perfectly balanced and simple look with a dainty tank top with fringe detailing, a thick, oversized sweater and simple accessories such as beaded bracelets and a classic leather belt.
Understated, yet a significant addition to this Fashionista’s bohemian ensemble, are her patent Dr. Martens. Having just received a pair of my own, I must say that I am completely obsessed. Besides your classic black boot or pair of flats, every Fashionista needs a shoe they can rely on when all else fails, and I can personally speak on behalf of Dr. Martens… they are one of the most versatile shoes I have ever owned. It is through their versatility that this Fashionista was able to complete her look with such a cunning detail. The bright patent purple brings the pop of color that her subdued ensemble was missing. These boots were definitely made for walking, and with the addition of a high sock, this Fashionista is ready for anything that lands in her path!
