As the weather is getting warmer and the sun is getting brighter, we all need to go back to the stuff we kept at the back of our closets and grab some freshly colored outfit. Speaking of freshness, brightness and fashion, it all leads us to the trend that has been going on for a while–neon accessories!
I met this week’s Fashionista in the parking lot as she was leaving her workplace, I could not help–and I don’t think anybody would- but notice all the neons she brought into a muted colors outfit. She was a total inspiration for go big or go home motif. She was wearing a teal shirt paired with a desert sand maxi skirt accessorized by a neon orange belt. She had an interesting collection of arm candy and chunky rings on. Her floral neon mix messenger bag and neon orange wedges were the right choices to complement her look.
This trend is definitely making its way up into the here-to-stay list, starting from the 80s and the 90s when neon made a prominent statement in the fashion accessories category as it always refered to a modern aspect and an edgy style. Neon nowadays is also making a huge occurrence in the fashion industry; many designers have been sending it down their runways for the last couple of seasons, not only because it is a total representing to a fun side but also because it never fails to caught all the attention.
Neons can be brought into your daily look in so many ways; first you need to know that this trend works the best with a darker outfit, like a little black dress and this plastic neon Juicy Couture clutch, or to brighten up a more formal blazer look with this necklace. However, neon can go really well with white as well–nothing is better than a beachy outfit and a Furla neon candy bag.
Spotted: Nobody does neon like Marc Jacobs, and he brought a very interesting range of accessories in the Marc by Marc Jacobs spring 2013 ready-to-wear to wear collection.
