Back to school and there’s a pip in everyone’s step on the Boston University campus. However, this new groove has little to do with the painful, never-ending homework and countless hours that will be lost in the library this semester; but it has everything to do with the new threads acquired over winter break.
With a new semester comes new experiences and new endeavors to sport the latest additions to our Fashionista temple, better known as the closet. Santa went to town during the holiday season, and we’re definitely not complaining.
Forget about color this winter, and fall in love with everything black and white. Monochromatic accessories bring freshness to jewel-toned holiday dresses or casual jeans and a sweater.
Our Fashionista takes the trend to the pavement in a black and white tortoise shell pattern. Embracing the contrasting colors in a great round shape, the Illesteva Leonard Dark Horn sunglasses were hard to miss on Boston University’s main artery, Commonwealth Avenue.
Especially loving the metallic Dr. Martens to finish off the ensemble, our Fashionista works the sidewalk as a catwalk. Utilizing this new color pallet will feel like a breath of fresh air after the abundance of textures and colors of the holiday season – which, not to mention, flatter any body type.
Spotted: Black and white trending brought the ready to wear collection by rag & bone together this spring. The always-tailored and refined brand used the opposing colors this season to show the boundaries it pushed with shape. The established line showed black and whites in ’90s cuts that will stay timeless.
