A woman’s all time classic piece of clothing in her room? The LBD. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it stands for little black dress.

Transitioning from what to wear from winter to spring is always an interesting one, especially in New Orleans. One day it will still be cold, and the next day it’ll be blazing hot. When I was walking to class, I saw this Fashionista wearing a casual little black dress with a lightweight denim jacket.

This time of year is really sweater and jeans weather anymore, so around campus I have been seeing everyone bringing out their springtime dresses. This Fashionista made her simple looking outfit look perfect for this time of year.

What I love most about this outfit is the scarf that she put on to add a little design and color, to make it girly. Her black combat boots go perfectly with her black dress and her simplistic jewelry adds a nice touch. To spice up this look even more, you could add gold or silver bangles to add a little more color.

This outfit is perfect for a day of class because it is comfortable and easy to throw on. It can also serve as the perfect outfit for a night out by taking off the boots, adding heels and putting on a statement necklace instead of the scarf.

So, Fashionista’s, if you are struggling with what to wear at this time of year, don’t fret. Just put on a simple and girly dress, add a few accessories with a jacket and you’ve got yourself the winning outfit.

Spotted: In Marc Jacobs’ spring 2010 show, multiple printed scarves are shown as an addition to a simple outfit.
