While thinking back on high school and how everyone wanted to find some sort of identity and individuality, I realized that we all kind of ended up dressing in some way that resembled our peers. Truly we just wanted to fit in. Now this week’s Fashionista has a style that is completely her own. What I love the most about it is that in college you really get to experience being your own person, and that includes individual style as well. In this outfit she is definitely hitting the mark.
This stylish Fashionista’s outfit is amazing! I’m loving her mix of color and layers. Her accessories are also great too — they add a personal touch to her outfit and keep the look interesting. She also added some color to her outfit which honors the spirit of spring while keeping her warm. Her style also reminds me of the grunge revival that I saw on the runways for spring and fall 2013. Saint Laurent and Givenchy’s fall 2013 ready-to-wear all showcased these edgy, cool, mix and match looks.
To recreate this look start with a bright summer dress in a bold statement color. Next you want to add a warm layer such as this hooded jacket that is similar to her’s above. The last layer for this ensemble is a worn in denim jacket.
You can also add some amazing accessories like the major statement pieces this Fashionista is sporting. I love her red TOMS shoes and how she mixed them with dainty red socks. Oh, and I can’t forget that bag! Cross-body bags are still on-trend for this spring so look for one with an abstract pattern like this one. Lastly, we have to talk about those sunglasses. I found a similar pair that is sure to turn heads and get you some compliments.
The mix and match look of the ’90s is back. There is something to be said about appearing to look easy and relaxed, so this spring I recommend that you try this trend. Trust me you’ll have fun finding new ways to wear some of your wardrobe favorites.
