Feminine outfits are classic. If I do not know what to wear, my go-to outfit is something simple, casual and girly. An outfit like that gives me instant confidence without any fuss. However, I still try to add at least one piece that is unique. How can you wear a feminine, casual outfit and still stand out? Borrowing this necklace from today’s Fashionista would work.
Today’s Fashionista wore a full nude skirt from Fossil, a simple black tied-up top, a distressed jean jacket and classic white Converse shoes. That outfit by itself is chic and simple. With the literally amazing, layered silver-tone statement necklace that today’s Fashionista added, the resulting look is simple and girly mixed with femme fatale. The different layers and designs in her necklace, along with its antique silver tone, contrasted perfectly with her light, soft skirt. Her necklace had an edge of toughness and adding that to a more sweet look made my eyes go directly to her. The layered look of her necklace also provided her outfit with an interesting texture. Her black Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses made for a nice link between her soft and edgy elements.
To get a similar look try this skirt from Urban Outfitters, while it is not as full, its light color and high-waisted style are still girly. Her necklace is originally from Zara and they still sell similar ones. Forever 21 has great distressed jean jackets that are almost identical to this Fashionista’s thrifted one. H&M has perfect, affordable options for basics like her black top.
Soft, girly and femme fatale–though it may not seem like these styles would complement each other, today we were shown through accessories how they go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Spotted: Roberto Cavalli’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection showcases many multi-layer silver necklaces. He included long and short necklaces that accentuated the neckline of his pieces.
