Head gear is very popular this season and last. From beanies, to snapbacks, to turbans, to floppy hats, the trend of wearing something on your noggin continues! Thick head bands were popular in the 1970s and 1980s. (If you didn’t know, fashion trends recycle themselves in an approximate cycle of thirty years.) Now the trend has a bit of a twist…literally. Headbands with knots on top are blazin’ hot. They’re a milder variation of the June Ambrose inspired head wrap with the knot in the front that is usually done with brilliantly colored scarves.
There are other variations of the knot headband that are wider and use dual colors or patterns such as stripes. There are headbands with knots in different styles. Some are very elaborate and beautiful with multiple knots and twists. This look adds adornment to your hair. With this look, now you can just slick your hair back up or leave it down in the hot summer weather. It’s a convenient, fashionable way to keep your hair out of your face and, if you choose an up-do, off of the back of your neck. This would be a great choice if you wanted to wear a sleeveless dress to show off your sun kissed shoulders.
This Fashionista uses her headband as a beautiful pop of color against her subtle blues and brown. Here she wears three very trendy items: the Jeffrey Campbell Lita boots, the striped shirt and the knotted headband. The neon color has also been trending for the past few years. Pops of neon color against neutral hues is a must for this spring. The sun is shining and so should you!
