ACCESSORIES REPORT: Keepin’ It Tight

Accessories Report

The recent and ever-plummeting temperatures have spurred a drastic change in my fall wardrobe, as I’m sure it has with many others. I have now had to forgo weeks of planned outfits that would otherwise require slightly higher temperatures. Charging full-speed ahead into these icy months will not be easy, but thanks to a great accessory that never goes out of style, dressing warm has never been so fabulously easy.

Tights have always held an important spot in any woman’s wardrobe. In my case, they transition fall clothes into winter. Since being a trendsetter in the dead of winter is hard enough, tights make layering (a winter must-do) incredibly easy. Tights are also make a great finishing touch to nearly any outfit. Facing the cold in your favorite dresses and skirts has never been so painless. This season’s designers have inspired new and interesting colors and patterns for legwear trends. One of the most unexpected trends to come off the runways is white tights.

This brave Fashionista is proof that tights (especially white ones) can help you pull off wearing a dress in cold temps. Don’t be fooled; winter white is anything but young and innocent. This Fashionista added edge to her overall look by simply throwing on a pair of socks and boots. Not to mention, the neutral color palette and cohesive elements of this ensemble completed her winter ready outfit.

Fall and winter this year has a growing emphasis on the use and layering. It’s quick, simple and looks much better than those sweatpants you live in during winter break. Also, don’t be afraid to take a break from your black tights because there are so many new prints and patterns to try out.

Spotted: This season’s runways featured legwear trends in a variety of styles. However, Missoni and Anna Sui dropped hints that white is right for tights.
