When I was assigned my schedule as a Style Guru, I was more than ecstatic to be writing for the ACCESSORIES REPORT column. Counterpart to the other Friday column, FASHION FROM ABROAD, if there is anything I love as much as fashion, it is without a doubt traveling. Having been lucky enough to see multiple wonders of the world, traveling to endless destinations has given me the knowledge of beautiful cultures and in that, even more extravagant fashion, to be inspired by and experience.
As if a spotlight of sun had come shining down through the mass of students walking between classes, this Fashionista’s funky and retro shades definitely stood out from the crowd. In stopping this Fashionista, I became even more excited when I found out that she was actually a foreign exchange student from Australia. Wanting to go to Australia and own her sunnies, she ironically told me that she had purchased her glasses here in America from American Apparel since she had forgotten hers back home.
With a pair of quirky shades like this Fashionista, you can embrace fashion from abroad right here at home! Sunglasses or “sunnies” as they are known by Aussies, are the perfect way to complete a look and are a must-have accessory to greet spring. This Fashionista’s thick, black rimmed cat-eye sunglasses are super bold and are a fun way to sculpt your face. There are a variety of types and style of sunglasses to choose from so pick a pair or if you’re anything like me and have a tendency to lose them before you even buy them, a few, that frame your face and fit your personality. You can check out some of spring’s hottest trends that include geometric shapes, tortoise prints and aquatic colors.
This Fashionista wears darker, earthy tones like green and black to complement her bold shades. This Fashionista wears a cool graphic tee to add some edge and keeps her look casual by throwing on a knit infinity scarf. Dual tones are paired by wearing a stylish, cargo windbreaker with a striped, green body con skirt. She sports a fun, cheetah print backpack and finishes her look off with a pair of black leggings and black combat boots to match.
Whether you like a thin, square shape or bright red cat-eye, you can enjoy the sun with your newest pair of sunnies just in time for spring!
