Over the past few weeks being back at campus, the realization that being back in college means there is loads of assignments due, nothing fits my mood more than to put on my most comfortable boots and jeans, and attempt to succeed in sporting a comfortable, yet fashionable ensemble. I have gravitated towards the more understated looks that have perfect, complimentary accessories, rather than bolder looks. I definitely believe that sometimes the most understated looks are the best ones and deserve to not be overlooked.
With men’s fashion, shoes seem to be the staple item that give a little extra flare to an otherwise simple outfit. This week’s Fashionisto caught my eye with his casual flannel button-down, but once looking closer into the details of his look did I fall in love with his accessories. To compliment his gray T-shirt, blue jeans and unbuttoned flannel button-down, this Fashionisto paired his look with suede combat boots and some shades. The flannel had elbow pads were was also a subtle detail that made this comfortable, yet understated look definitely attention-worthy.
Men sporting combat boots on a regular day basis was not always a common sight, but recently as we soon begin to see autumn’s colors and cooler breeze in the city, combat boots are the perfect alternative shoe to add a little extra edge to one’s look. The choice of dark gray suede keeps the shoes more under the radar, but can make an ensemble more dressy if needed.
