Finals have come and gone, people are moving out of their apartments and many of us are staying in Boston for co-op or summer classes. Although everyone is distracted with thoughts of going home, they still have to focus on putting themselves together every morning. Since many students are moving from their dorm to a new apartment, getting dressed equates to yoga pants and sneakers. Even though this is an incredibly comfortable duo, it always feels better to leave your apartment or dorm room looking stylish.
Today’s Fashionista is sporting a casual but chic look. Her look is neutral and laid back, which is a perfect combination for an all-nighter at the library or packing up your room. Her ensemble begins with a great pair of black ankle boots and very on trend burgundy skinny jeans. These are popular staples that I have spotted many fellow students sporting this year. On top, she stays comfortable with a dark gray sweater and a black scarf.
This Fashionista also keeps her hair in mind and accessorizes her locks with a charming pearl headband. Although some people definitely care more about their hair than others, it is still an important part of any look. Headbands are a simple and classic accessory that can cover up a bad hair day or potentially add some subtle shine or color to an everyday ensemble. This Fashionista’s headband could be worn with a casual outfit like she is wearing or with a cute cocktail dress at a wedding.
Since many of you still have many hours left to study at the library, I recommend putting together some simple go-to outfits for those late nights. Like today’s Fashionista has done, have a pair of colored pants, a lightweight sweater and comfortable shoes ready to go. For a more spring like ensemble, opt for pastel toned pants, like this pastel blue pair from True Religion. Add a lightweight sweater and scarf in case the AC is cranked while you are taking finals. Throw on your favorite neutral colored ankle boots or sandals if the weather allows.
For accessories, keep your hands and wrists free and accessorize your hair instead. Pick a headband that will make up for any lack of jewelry elsewhere. Take a look at The Chic-est Link Headband from Modcloth for one option. For a spring inspired piece, check out this Candy Flower Headband from Urban Outfitters. For something more like today’s Fashionista is wearing, look at this blue pearl headband.
