ACCESSORIES REPORT: Head Into Spring

Accessories Report

When you think of headwraps, do you instantly visualize the thick wool head accessory that we are all too familiar with? While those loyal head warmers were always there for us in the below-zero weather, we are in need of a sibling accessory so-to-speak, because well, nature has spoken. Don’t worry, there is no need to ditch the head wrap esthetic completely. In fact, for the spring why not opt for a much lighter, colorful and buoyant headwrap?

That is exactly what this Fashionista has done. She is confidently rocking a red, blue and mustard paisley/boho pattern headwrap. Not just any headwrap, a totally spring-appropriate headwrap that serves the much needed purpose of adding some color and life. As a bonus, this headwrap also adds the benefit of keeping hair out of her face on windy days. Basically, you can’t go wrong with a spring headwrap.

This Fashionista showcases her headwrap amazingly by keeping the rest of her look pretty low key with some subtle touches. She has on an unbuttoned army green button-down shirt with gold studs on the shoulders, which she paired with a white cardigan. Moving down she has a pair of medium wash skinny jeans with some awesome holes at the knees which give the look a cool gritty feel. For her shoes, she went for a black and white checkered pair of Vans which complement the headwrap quite nicely. To finish the look off, she piled on some unique rings that give the look some detail and add a very bohemian vibe.

If you are dying to try out the spring headwrap trend, sure, you could head to a store and buy one off the rack or you could go the extra mile and make your own DIY headwrap. If you are leaning towards the second option, go to your favorite local thrift store and pick out a few different options of fabrics that speak to you. Once you have found the perfect pattern that suits you, there are so many ways to transform that piece of fabric into different styles of headwraps. Secondly, do any trimming that needs to be done to make the shape of the headwrap. Check out Pinterest or just do a simple web search on ‘how to tie head wraps.’ Trust me, you will find hundreds of easy styles.

So, follow this Fashionista in trying out an amazingly stylish and practical accessory for the spring. The best part is, it won’t break the bank, so there is nothing to lose!
