I believe the transition between seasons is one of the best parts of the year. Whether it’s spring or fall, it’s the perfect time to get creative and reinvent your wardrobe. With the weather sitting in the middle of extremes, breaking out of old fashion habits and falling into new ones can make for some inspired outfits. Many college students, on the other hand, would disagree with me. Pulling together an outfit can admittedly be a challenge when the temperatures are changing by the hour.
In Columbia, spring has finally sprung…for now. The warm, breezy weather has once again graced us with its presence—just in time for spring break. Although the sunshine may be fleeting, this Fashionista proves that it’s never too early to show a little leg and rock a little floral.
Her vintage-inspired cropped jacket is so crazy it works. A flawless combination of feminine and edgy, this jacket speaks for itself and is the ultimate spring piece. Its wild mismatched prints and perfect fit make it far superior to any regular leather bomber. Worn over a printed sheer blouse, it plays off of the floral pattern in her collared shirt and gives her outfit an instant springy update. Her white denim shorts elongate her figure while letting everyone know that spring has finally arrived.
Besides her effortless taste in prints, this Fashionista also has a knack for fearless accessories. Her metallic bauble necklace, worn under the slightly exaggerated collar of her blouse, adds a fun pop of texture to her ensemble. Its neutral colors keep it from clashing or getting lost amidst all of the prints. Her bold wedge booties, worn without tights or socks, make her legs look long and sleek.
My favorite part of this Fashionista’s outfit is her wide-brimmed hat. Made from wool but structured at the top, this hat is a spring go-to. Its fun shape and unique flair will add to any outfit, making it easy to wear during or in between any season!
Don’t let the transition from winter to summer scare you. On warm days, take advantage of the sunshine and follow this Fashionista’s fashion. Be bold and play around with prints, textures and accessories.
