Bags, bags, bags — I just cannot get enough of them! As so wonderfully explained in The Devil Wears Prada, a handbag, “is merely a piece of iconography used to express individual identity,” and boy is that right! Probably the most versatile and universally loved accessory, handbags come in every shape and size under the sun. From subtle patent neutrals to vibrant snakeskin prints, there should be a space for a handbag in every Fashionistas heart. If there isn’t, then I don’t mind taking that extra bag!
You couldn’t miss this Fashionista on campus today if you tried. Not only did I fall head-over-heels with her lightly checkered blue pants, but I was also impressed at how she looked so effortlessly put together overall. Her accessories were beautifully synchronized, and her slouchy tan leather bag complimented her Franco Sarto sandals perfectly. Even the dull gold buckles found on this Fashionista’s handbag were exactly the same tone as those on her shoes — coordination at its finest!
Originally, it was the classy simplicity of her sandals that drew me to this Fashionista. However, as I proceeded to approach her, subtle details became apparent, like the lightly embossed snakeskin on the cream straps. Details like this, as well as, the intricate seam stitching on her handbag and the harmony between bag, shoe and watch, really show that an outfit has gone the extra mile. Finally, her kate spade watch added that additional sophisticated edge that could take this already charming outfit from a lecture hall to lunch on Rodeo Drive.
I can’t wait to see what other spring trends start developing at UCLA!
