It’s funny how clothes come back into style years and years after we wore them for the first time as toddlers. I’m seeing overalls and leggings in store fronts and it’s great that girls can revert back to their roots. I grew up walking around in leggings with oversized sweatshirts and now that’s my go-to comfy outfit. Another thing we all grew up wearing were bibs. They added style to an infant’s outfits and could be like an accessory for them. That is exactly what is coming back in style — bib necklaces, the big chunky necklaces that add such flare to some outfits. So, we learn to go from bibs that say “Daddy’s Girl” to bibs of diamonds and pearls.
This Fashionista added a bib to her intern-ready ensemble that linked everything together. Her coral pants and pale yellow top screamed springtime. She pulled a white blazer over the top for a professional look. The bib diamond necklace was the perfect accessory to tie everything together. It gave the outfit a sense of elegance and maturity.
I think everyone should try to revert back to their infant style and try a bib necklace. For one similar to this Fashionista’s, try the Heartbreaker Bib from BaubleBar. The oversized crystal necklace can work for professional gatherings or a night out with the girls. For a more Egyptian style check out Piperlime’s Clear and Mint Faceted Jewel Necklace. The pale green and purple work great with the gold chain. for a more funky bib, try Anthropolgie’s Fertile Crescent Bib Necklace. Decked with tiny roses, it is the perfect feminine statement.
Think back to those baby bib days and how many compliments you got on those pastel pieces. Now, imagine how many compliments you’ll get with one of these bibs.
Spotted: House of Lavande’s spring 2013 collection offers a great bib piece with a gold base decked with blue crystals. It would layer perfectly over a simple black dress or plain tee and blazer.
