It’s no secret that the colors mint and turquoise have been very popular colors in the last few seasons in clothing, accessories and even home décor. For those who have not forayed into these hues, most of the time it is due to inability to think of what to pair with it! What matches with such a vibrant hue?
The safe and foolproof way to go is the route this Fashionista took with keeping all accessories consistent not necessarily in color, but color family. Her brown tote, nude heels and brown-themed jewelry give a more put-together illusion. Rather than having a neutral tote and maybe bright heels or jewelry to color-block, this is a definitely more wearable, and for our internship Fashionistas, office-appropriate, way to integrate your fun summer wardrobe into a more professional one.
Another benefit to this thought process is the money you will inevitably save investing in more high-quality neutral accessories rather than trendy and bright-colored ones. Although these may prove useful in the long run as well, it is a lesson we hate to hear from our moms at this age that I am afraid will be inevitably true. Neutral colored accessories, specifically bags in black and brown are more timeless than any other color.
If you are wary to rock a bright color, use your accessories to tone it down and create cohesiveness and you will be sure to feel more confident rocking these brights.
Spotted: Running the risk of being too “matchy-matchy” is thrown out the window this upcoming fall according to the fall 2013 ready-to-wear collection by 3.1 Phillip Lim. By coordinating black heels, small clutch and leather vest, the result is not something that looks so planned, but actually a more effortless look giving dimension to an otherwise neutral ensemble.
