Although I am (literally) getting myself into a hairy situation, the topic of fur has faced both support and hate in the fashion world. While we all have our own views on the matter, I think we can all agree on the fact that, faux or real, fur accents are a fashion must. The addition of incredibly soft fur to my personal favorite, vests, undoubtedly adds a level of chicness (and warmth) to any outfit. Whether you’re running to class or down the street for a lunch date, it takes a mere couple of seconds to throw on, and trust me, you’ll thank me later. Paired with wax-coated skinny jeans and ankle boots, pick your fur-lined accessory weapon and you cannot go wrong.
I had a near fashion freak-out when I spotted this Fashionista walking on the quad. Thankfully, she is a close friend so it was totally acceptable for me to run up and start petting her outrageously soft rabbit fur hooded vest. The simple gray sweater, leggings and classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses allowed the vest to tie every aspect together in order to complete her sophisticated fall ensemble. With the added layers of her Theory hooded vest, it elongates the Fashionista’s legs and helps bring attention her fabulously gold accented Vince Camuto boots.
Ella Moss makes a great convertible shearling fur vest that can either be worn with the fur facing outwards or inwards to keep your body nice and cozy during the bitter winter months ahead. If you’re looking for more furry coverage, Marni offers a raccoon and shearling-trimmed parka, that makes it both stylish and downright practical. For once, being warm and down with the hottest trends go hand in hand, so stay toasty my fellow Fashionistas.
Spotted: Hermes fall 2012 covered their models in head to toe fur and embraced autumn tones.
