ACCESSORIES REPORT: Flower Fever

Accessories Report

It’s officially spring and students are all smiles around campus as the weather is finally looking up. I don’t know if it’s because bright colors are in season or the fact that large jackets are no longer needed, but Happy Valley seems to be a lot happier this time of year. Whether it’s sunglasses, flower headbands for spring concerts or adorable scandals/flats, spring is my favorite season when it comes to accessories.

This Fashionista shows off her adorable hipster side with this flower print romper ensemble. She paired this festival-ready look with an adorable pair of lace flats. These are the perfect go-to shoes for days when you have a long walk across campus and need a pair of comfortable, lightweight shoes. Forever 21 has a similar pair seen here.

I love how this Fashionista uses a simplistic pair of stud earrings to complement her flower-themed outfit. Unique studs are pretty trendy around the Penn State student body. These small earrings come in all different shapes and sizes and look great when stacked with a second hole piercing. Free People carries sets of mixed and matched earrings. Her wrap watch is another great way to add embellishment to an outfit. It’s the studs and diamonds really bring the leather band to life.

My favorite piece from this Fashionista’s outfit is her bold flower headband. Nothing says “spring” like floral and with this vintage-inspired accessory she fully executes the means of spring fashion. Flower headbands are perfect for a variety of occasions such as themed parties and concerts. I love when they are paired with long maxi skirts or dresses. You can find a headband similar to this Fashionista’s here.

Spotted: Zuhair Murad uses a gold leaf belt to accentuate the waistline in the spring 2014 runway collection. The nature inspired accessory is similar to this Fashionista’s and a perfect example of how to tie in spring within your wardrobe.
