Now that August has begun, it seems that summer is quickly on its way out. Everyone is getting ready to go back to school, the weather starts to cool off bit by bit and fall fashions are hitting the shelves. Jean jackets have always been a fall wardrobe staple, and that isn’t changing this upcoming season. I’ve recently been on the hunt for the perfect denim jacket to add to my closet, and during my search I have become completely enamored with the acid wash trend. This Fashionista perfectly displayed the exact reason why I love it.
The acid wash style adds a little extra edge to a classic look, which I think is a fabulous thing to have in a staple piece. Everyone has a jean jacket, so how are you going to make yours stand out? This stylish lady made her outfit pop by adding her super cute jacket to an otherwise simple combo. The touch of denim really spiced up her simple dress and sandals, which were adorable as well. With a jacket such as this one from Topshop and this scalloped dress from J.Crew, this Chicago native’s ensemble can come to life once again.
While trendier must-haves can be extremely desirable, there is never anything wrong with the classics. A dark wash denim jacket, such as this one from Levi Brand Jeans, would also pair fantastically with this Fashionista’s outfit (among many more). The deeper blue coats are timeless, and are always a fantastic fashion investment. Denim vests are also super popular right now, and have the same edgier flair that this fashionable girl has, with the timeless look of a more classic wash.
While jean jackets are a fall fashion staple, they are perfect to be worn year round. You can pair them with a sweater, jeans and boots in fall or colored crops and a cute tee during spring. They add an extra layer in the midst of winter. They can also warm up a cute dress and sandals like this Fashionista did. The standard look can be made trendy, as seen here, or kept classy. However you wear it, denim jackets are genius.
