Fall is winding down and Boston and the cold is on it’s way. However, we can’t let go of our favorite fall staples just yet! The one fall staple that we look forward to all year long is our beloved riding boots. Is it just me or do they literally go with everything?!? I think they bring any casual outfit up a few notches to make it CollegeFashionista worthy!
This Fashionista does just that! She uses a simple fall ensemble, leggings and a chambray shirt and turns it into so much more by adding the leather-riding boots. Why do leather boots make such a difference in an outfit, you ask? 1. Leather will always be in style. Fashion changes constantly but can you ever remember a time when leather wasn’t chic for fall? 2. It helps with accessories. Without the leather riding boots this outfit is boring and ordinary. When you add the riding boots it gives the Fashionista something to work with. As you can see she did use it to her advantage by matching her Michael Kors tote and the natural hued statement necklace.
As much as we love our riding boots there are plenty of fall staples that us Bostonian’s need to take advantage of as long as we can! For example, moccasins. I fell in love with moccasins freshman year when my roommate had a pair and I seriously cannot get enough ever since. They are comfortable, they are an easy neutral tone to match with ensembles and they are the perfect substitute when you need to retire your summer Sperry Top-Siders. I love to wear moccasins with a pair of skinny jeans and slouchy sweatshirt and a scarf!
Another fall staple are quilted barn coats. I know some can wear these throughout the winter but here in Boston they only last a few weeks. I know these jackets aren’t necessarily accessories but when they look this cute they might as well be! I love the Burberry quilted barn coat but I have seen some adorable ones at Jack Wills! This is the perfect fall jacket because they don’t make you overheated while walking to class and they look adorable fall layers. I like to wear a fall flannel, a cardigan and then my quilted jacket with a pair of jeans or cords to get a full fall ensemble!
Ugh, I just love fall fashion and I’m sad that we are on our way to winter here in Boston but having a few weeks left of these fall staples slightly eases the pain!
