#BRR, #freezing, #needhotcocoa: these are all common hashtags among ISU students this month. Once again Ames, Iowa received some winter flurries. It is no secret on campus that warmth is the most essential factor to any wardrobe. Everyone is still wearing the same puffy coats, big scarves, mittens and hats trying to escape the cold winter weather. Walking to campus may almost seem like a blur because everyone is starting to dress alike. It is easy for students to fall into a slump and not care about creating a stylish winter ensemble. Take advice from this Iowa State Fashionista and accessorize your winter wardrobe!
This Fashionista caught my eye because of her enormous scarf that was entwined around her neck. Not only is this type of scarf suitable for the winters in Iowa, but it also adds in a splash of color to her outfit. The burnt red scarf gives her outfit a warm glow, even though the snowy days may seem dreary. I think that every puffy coat, cardigan or sweatshirt deserves to be accessorized with an adorable scarf.
This Fashionista’s knit cardigan is perfect for layering over a long sleeve T-shirt. Cardigans of all styles are seen all throughout campus. They are very simple to dress up or dress down, depending on the look you want achieve. You can never go wrong with purchasing a cardigan. If they are not too heavy you can even wear them in the upcoming cold summer nights.
I can’t forget to mention this Fashionista’s lace-up snow boots. Bye bye UGG boots, hello Sorel snow boots! This type of snow boot has it all! Everything from patterns, laces, fur, style and comfort! These have been a hit this winter, and since winter is only halfway over they are perfect to purchase while they are on sale. If the fur and the lace-up boots are too much for your taste, try looking into some plain leather boots to keep those toes warm!
Spotted: Givenchy adds in leather boots to the fall 2012 ready-to-wear.
