Fashion is hardly determined by a calculated set of rules. Although, a premeditated set of accessories certainly helps a Fashionista/o out when gearing up for these arctic temperatures. By this point you know to grab any and all layers in sight before venturing out into the wintery abyss. Next time however, instead of implementing the same tired accessories into your look, opt for something with a little more enthusiasm like this Fashionista.
My attention was immediately drawn to her hat. It’s a rarity to see such a vibrant stamp of animation depicted in a chic way. The color is small and compact in it’s placement, though bold enough to make an effective statement. You just can’t help but smile back!
I love her play on color and neutrality within the ensemble. The outfit itself isn’t noticeably colorful. However, at a second glance the blue backpack, ombré scarf and forest green coat add an unexpected twist to what would appear as an outfit driven by neutrals. In doing so, each piece plays a part by effectively drawing the eye upwards. The eye then reaches that lovely pop of purple in her hair. Thus creating a dominant focal point upon the happiest hat you have ever seen.
This Fashionista seamlessly created a multicolored, layered look while maintaining a subdued effect. By letting the hat speak for itself, she adopted a trend that lends itself to a more sophisticated audience. It just goes to show that mixing up your accessories now and then has the potential to add an unexpected pep in your step.
Spotted: Last year neon was a huge trend on the runway. Erdem’s spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection infused neon and pastel colors to create a beautiful play on contrast in vibrancy.
