With the summer heat trying to leave and make room for the cool temperatures of fall, it sometimes is hard to dress and accessorize for the weather. One of the easiest ways that you can add a simple touch to your outfit is by playing around with standout hair pieces. Out of all the different types of hair knick knacks there are, headbands have always been my “go-to” hair accessory. They have a stylish and versatile look that adds the perfect touch to any outfit! Chic headpieces enhance our feminine side and flatter both casual as well as sophisticated, elegant looks. They add that unique finishing touch to an outfit, or glam up an otherwise understated style. Either way, they will definitely make you stand out in a crowd!
Headbands have made their way back from the ’60s and into the fashion industry once again. The bohemian vibe is a trend that everyone seems to be rocking and the hippie headbands are a definite must-have. From flowers to feathers, beads to knots, you can go in whatever direction you want! If you don’t think you can pull off this look, there are still many different ways to put headbands to use. Pull you hair back, put it up or leave it down, headbands are a great way to keep hair out of your face and keep your look very clean. My favorite way to pull off this trend is by keeping my look very casual and drawing attention to my headband. Black skinny jeans, a denim button-up shirt, white Converse and a bohemian headband is a great way to kick off the fall in style!
This Fashionista was rocking a very casual style look while going to class. She paired her delicate knotted headband with a cotton maxi skirt, a chiffon tank and gladiator sandals. Her headband paired with her gold accessories added to the overall feminine look. This Fashionistas headband seems simple until you look at the back. Hanging on the ends are dainty beads with feathers, which gave off a hippie vibe. If you want to be more daring with your look, try wearing a headband that has more volume to it! Just remember to keep the attention either on your outfit or your headband to avoid overdoing your look.
Headbands are super easy to find and are very affordable with that strict college budget. Also, if you want to express your inner creativity, there are many DIY projects you can find to create a fashionable boho headband! Anthropologie has a variety of beaded and flower style headbands that have a very feminine feel to them. If you are looking for a more boho style, ASOS is a great place to find statement hair pieces!
