Now that it’s October and the pumpkin spice lattes are out, you could say it’s definitely feeling a lot more like fall, even though it’s still a toasty 90-degrees here in Austin. This Fashionista is handling this transition pretty dang well. She paired her already chill, cute, perfect, relaxed, incredibly Austin-y (did I say perfect yet?) outfit with combat boots. Now I know some may still think combat boots should strictly be worn with heavy leather jackets and warm jeans, but that is definitely not the case! Boots, especially ones like these with ribbon laces and floral accents, can be worn at all times and with everything. This Fashionista will still be able to pull on these boots over some thick tall socks with her sweaters and scarves.
Fashionistas, I swear by my favorite black Steve Madden combat boots. From the day I got them, which was almost four years ago, I have always said I could wear them with any outfit at any time of the year, and that still holds true for me to this day. The boots above with the fold-over detail that reveals a small floral print are definitely more precious than my crusty old plain pair. Don’t be scared to buy and wear shoes with a lot of elements to them! Just because it’s a floral print does not mean you can’t pair it with a tribal print, like this Fashionista did flawlessly. Highly elemental accessories may seem like you can only wear them one time with one outfit, but the fun of it is finding new ways to wear the rest of your clothes along with them. Challenge your closet.
The fold-over detail is my favorite part of these boots. If floral is not your thing, check out this plaid pair of Dr. Martens. Dr. Martens are probably the most iconic combat boots out there. They are the best investment when it comes to footwear, even full-on floral footwear. Söfft offers a pair of boots that have many elements to them. They have woven inserts on the sides and an additional couple inches in shaft height. These boots would for sure be worn-in in a flash.
Don’t wait for the cold to rock your boots. Find that unique pair and wear them until you can’t anymore.
Spotted: Maison Martin Margiela paired all their looks with sleek combat/motorcycle boots for their pre-fall 2013 collection. This burgundy pair resembles the warm burgundy in the boots above!
