At my university, if you’re not a creative design student or study a course where you need a folio, you don’t get a locker. Unless you rent one out by hour like you’re at an amusement park, which is pointless when most of the RMIT classes are all over the city rather than in one building. Even though as university students we’ve graduated from the humble school bag, we still need a place to put all of our stuff!
In first year, I used to alternate between a book bag and a satchel to cart all of my things around, but it eventually starting taking the toll on my shoulders and posture. Students spend enough time hunching over their desks or vigorously dancing the night away that they really don’t need another factor to affect their back! So a backpack like this Fashionisto’s is a great option to carry your things around without causing your muscles too much stress.
No longer reserved for primary school kids and adventure seekers, backpacks have now become a fashion staple for university students. With every colour, design and pattern to choose from, it’s easy to find one that suits your style. For example, this Fashionisto’s style is quite preppy-chic, so he’s chosen a backpack that reflects that. His forest green backpack from Fred Perry with leather straps is a timeless and classy design and definitely looks more suave than schoolboy. The style he’s chosen is also quite versatile and I can imagine him looking smart as he walks to class with this on, but this bag would also work in summer if he were to take it to the beach.
If the reason you need a backpack is because your books and/or laptop are too heavy to carry on one shoulder, I suggest writing down the measurements of your books and computer before you go shopping. That way you’ll know for sure that your things will fit comfortably and not distort the shape of the bag.
Fashionistos looking to bring some sexy back while still looking after your back, try Herschel backpacks for a universally flattering design or for an extra fancy look, pick a backpack with leather detailing. For Fashionistos who want a colourful bag to reflect their colourful personality, choose one with a graphic print. But whatever style you decide on boys, your back will definitely pack a stylish punch!
