Savannah brings beautiful weather and well dressed art students. I like to think of this city as a sort of mixing bowl, bringing people from all over to explore what makes it so unique and pretty. This includes my fellow SCAD students and their various styles. We’re midway through the quarter, but that’s not stopping anyone from dressing well. You never know who you’re going to run into in Savannah or which important people from your industry are going to stop into class, so it’s important you look the part.
This Fashionista knows how to dress from head to toe, from her edgy take on the classic tweed to those amazing shoes (just look at those). Oxfords are becoming more interesting as they grow in popularity. Just this past winter break, I got a pair that had cutouts, and I love them. Usually I’m not an oxford person, but with these new styles coming out, I’m finding myself more drawn to them. These caught my eye from the striking contrast between the black leather, white sole and transparent houndstooth-printed design. Look at all those beautiful details in the leather! The leather combined with the houndstooth print is a perfect match. I love how she kept her outfit simple making the main focus on her shoes. She styled the outfit with a beautiful small necklace and the coolest ring ever (here’s one from Urban Outfitters that’s along the same idea). The outfit is simple, yet striking with just the right amount of color and detailing in the jacket and shoes.
Oxfords can be worn with anything from jeans to dresses. Keep an eye out for more interesting styles because they can make an outfit more unique. Topshop has a cutout oxford in several color ways, so you can be bold or a bit more classic. Nordstrom has this beautiful distressed pair if you’re not that interested in cutouts. Oxfords are classic and can be worked into almost any wardrobe so try them out!
