Shoes with cutout details have absolutely stormed the fashion world recently. From strapped high-heeled booties to cutout flats and oxfords, these shoes are no strangers to the Triton runways. In the fall, Fashionistas donned cutout boots with dark jeans, autumn dresses and knee-high socks. It’s clear that this trend didn’t fade as fall did; spring is here, and cutouts are here to stay!
As spring fully blooms, Fashionistas have successfully transferred this cutout trend to the new season, namely in the form of sandals. These seasonally appropriate shoes have been styled with lighter jeans, sheer tights, floral dresses and brightly colored skater skirts. No matter the styling, these slightly edgy shoes add a touch of daring sophistication to any look.
This Fashionista, who I spotted near Price Center, dons perhaps one of my favorite choices for the cutout trend: shoes in all black. Although spring is here and dark colors may seem a thing of the past, this Fashionista demonstrates that black is a classic choice, making these cutout sandals dually edgy and versatile. She matches her sandals, a pair with thick straps and cutouts near the toes, with other simple and beautiful pieces, such as black skinny jeans, a rose T-shirt, a bohemian cardigan and an amazing necklace. Her shoes are subtle enough as not to take away from her ensemble’s casual chicness, but structured and eye-catching enough to truly complete the outfit. The look as a whole is classic and stylish!
If you would like to work this trend into your wardrobe, go for it! There are so many variations of the cutout shoe that you’re certain to find your perfect fit. A great way to embrace this trend is to borrow from our Fashionista, and choose a cutout sandal in a neutral color. You can’t go wrong with a black pair, but beige and camel shoes will also go with anything! If you tend to favor a bit of height in your shoes, try a pair of cutout booties. These booties can absolutely work for spring, especially in a lighter color, and are always chic. For the preppy dresser, oxfords with geometric cutouts are an option. These shoes maintain the classic oxford shape, but the cutouts add a fresh perspective!
However you choose to adopt this footwear trend, your fashion choice will definitely make the cut!
