I am a huge fan of extending sandal season as long as possible, however most believe with fall in bloom it’s time to break out other shoe options. This Fashionista chose to go with white high-top Converse as her closed-toe shoe of choice. Practical, comfy and all around always in style, Converse can adapt to any outfit. You can pair them with a dress, jean shorts or an even more relaxed look of yoga pants.
These shoes have been around since 1908, when the ‘Converse Rubber Shoe Company’ began. However, it wasn’t until 1917 that the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced and the company truly took off running (pun intended). The basketball player, Charles “Chuck” Taylor began working at the Converse store and in a few short years, his signature was added to the All Star patch on the high-topped sneaker. By the 1920s approximately 20,000 pairs were sold daily and nowadays about sixty percent of all Americans own or have owned at least one pair.
Buying accessories that have such interesting history makes the purchase even more worth while and meaningful. With “Chucks” it is not just some story of a sneaker, but rather a phenomenon that has truly swept the nation and attracted countless amounts of people. Converse come in different colors, patterns, you can even customize them to fit your personality and liking. What Fashionista wouldn’t want to own their own pair?
This freshly white pair of Chucks featured above compliments the Fashionista’s outfit greatly and exemplifies a simplistic, classic look. Her Francesca’s white bag matches the sneakers, while the navy and white Forever 21 striped tank does as well. The H&M light blue high-waisted jean shorts give the relaxed feel to the look and are an easy option. With some simple silver rings and a good pair of sunglasses, this Fashionista went to class cute, comfy and Conversed out. So, when you’re stuck on what shoes to pair with your ensemble, Converse are always a great, stylish option that you barely can go wrong with.
