I never imagined that a shoe could be so versatile. I mean, I have seen toddlers, grown adults and athletes all sporting this shoe. I’ve seen women wearing them with maxi skirts, men wearing them with jeans and T-shirts and professional basketball players playing basketball in these shoes. These shoes have gathered such a diverse group of fans and date all the way back to the early 20th century. Now, they are among the most recognizable footwear in the world.
You may ask what shoe am I gabbing about so much. Well, if you don’t already know, I am talking about the ultimate shoe, Chuck Taylor All Stars or Converse All Stars, also referred to as Converses. These were first designed to be elite shoes for the professional basketball league in 1917 and then turned into a craze among musicians and many other groups. Over the years, Converses changed over from sportswear to casual footwear.
This Fashionista plays around with her Converses and pairs them with a cut-off T-shirt and high-waisted denim shorts to give off a girl-meets-boy vibe. They can also be dressed up to be a little bit more feminine with a T-shirt dress or maxi skirt. My favorite piece to pair with my Converses has to be my skater skirt. It’s fun and flirty and really comfortable. So if you don’t already own a pair, please go to your nearest shoe store and grab these ultimate shoe must-haves!
Spotted: I’m not the only one going crazy over Converses. Check out Wayne’s fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection. He can’t get enough of these bad boys.
