Spring has finally sprung! The fierce winter weather has officially left North Carolina, and the idea of finally being able to wear shorts and sundresses excites me to new means. Spring is a transitional season; a time where you can pull out the shorts and pair them with a rolled up long sleeve shirt or maybe a pair of cuffed jeans with a T-shirt and a scarf. With the arrival of spring I’ve been on the lookout for trending Fashionistas/os around campus, and I’ve spotted one with a utilitarian chic ensemble.
If you are an avid Hilary Duff fan like myself, you will remember Cadet Kelly; a teenage girl whom is forced to attend military school and swap her designer clothes for a less than fabulous uniform. However, being the trendy Fashionista that she is, she puts her own spin on the traditional military camo look. I’ve come across a Fashionista channeling her inner Cadet Kelly. I’m not a huge fan of the camo trend, however this Fashionista pulls off the look effortlessly. She has opted for a fairly basic look of jeans and a black top, however adds a touch of color through her camouflage-inspired scarf. The olive shade complements the color of her auburn locks. Her scarf is a versatile accessory that is the perfect layer to her basic look.
Her utilitarian look would not be as accomplished if it weren’t for the addition of her aviator shades and studded details. The classic aviator sunglasses along with accenting studded gold details from both her flats and wrapped leather bracelet are the perfect finishing touches to her overall cohesive look.
