Tons of Fashionista’s walk the sidewalks and hallways of any college sporting boots in the winter. I would say they are a huge necessity. With snow always a possibility in the northeast, it is always smart to invest in a few pairs of boots. Normally, I spot hundreds of girls in UGGs or riding boots so it’s a treat when my eye catches a different breed of footwear.
Cowboy boots, in my mind, are kept special for Jessica Simpson music videos or Blake Shelton on The Voice. It’s nice to spot a fresh take on what some would call a classic. This Fashionista paired her country footwear with colored jeans and a brown leather jacket. Her jacket complemented the boots, and together, the pair tied the whole outfit together.
So many stores offer a new category of boots: western. This style is becoming more and more popular with large stores like DSW and ALDO offering multiple styles. A pair from DSW that caught my eye were the Volatile Bolero Western Bootie, offered in light and dark washes, there is an option for everyone. For a more country vibe, try the Froambe style from ALDO. This style strikes me as something straight out of a Toby Keith concert. They would work nicely with a pair of jeans and a simple top, keeping the focus on the fancy footwear. If those styles don’t do the trick, check out the Billy Pull On from Frye Boot Company. The gray color is different than the typical brown shade found in most cowboy boots. This pair is even on my wish list!
Whichever color or design catches your attention, head out and try this western style. Maybe these boots aren’t made just for walking around at your favorite country artist’s concert, maybe you can (stylishly) walk your way to class.
Spotted: Chloe Sevigny, a once “It” girl, is known for her bohemian, country look. Style.com names her as one of their fresh faces of history and makes note of one of her wardrobe favorites, cowboy boots.
