New York Fashion week is here. One of my absolute idols and fashion week expert, Kelly Cutrone, tweeted “Are you all ready for New York Fashion Week?!!!!!! Let’s do this !” Yes Kelly, we’re ready. From February 6th through the 13th, designers are unveiling their fall 2014 collections in a week of models, runways, couture, creativity and of course fashion. I feel a great deal of envy for every single person who gets to attend one of the fabulous runway events. Almost as exciting as seeing what the models wear on the runways is observing what the Fashionstas and Fashionistos who attend the shows are wearing. Like the People’s Revolution PR guru Kelly Cutrone and many other New Yorkers, I spotted this Fashionsta on my campus rocking an all black ensemble.
What immediately jumps out at me from this Fashionista’s outfit are her boots. The grey-brown color break up the black nicely. I am a huge proponent for investing in a great pair of neutral leather boots because they are super versatile and go with tons of different looks. The buckles on these boots give them a bit more edge than classic riding boots. Another staple accessory? Her tote bag. I love the shoulder strap on this bag, it makes it really functional.
This overall look is simple and chic. This Fashionsta ties her outfit together with a delicate silver necklace and a cool pair of shades. Lately I’ve been noticing a trend towards little pendant necklaces and I have to say I’m totally into it. Jennifer Zeuner offers an excellent selections of necklaces like the one this Fashionista is wearing. Another trend that she hits spot on are her sunglasses. Fashion styles from the 1990s are making a huge comeback as of late and one of the best fads from the grunge era are aviator sunglasses. This Fashionista steps outside the box with a solid black pair. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a pair of Ray-Bans.
Spotted: The 3.1 Phillip Lim spring 2014 collection features this fabulous and functional shoulder strap black tote bag.
