In the last few years, fashion has given boots another name. No longer are boots only for cowgirls in daisy dukes and biker chicks rocking leather. Fashionistas now have the opportunity for stylish comfort as well!

The boot craze first started with the riding boot hitting the streets. As a horseback rider myself, I rejected this trend thinking that only true patrons of the sport could rock this style. That is until I came across Vince Camuto’s Fivvy Whiskey boot. They changed my life. After wearing them religiously for a year, I was determined to branch out. What I found was spectacular! A shorter version of my beloved Camuto boots called the bootie!

The best thing about booties is that they are so versatile. In this photo, the Fashionista went for a chic, elegant approach when styling her outfit for the streets of downtown Los Angeles. Normally, I would not think of pairing this dress with booties, yet it completely captures elegance with a comfort aspect in disguise. Her dress allowed for easy movement throughout the streets and flowed in the cool breeze adding a whimsical element. The booties bring the whole outfit together creating more of a trendy feel with the wonderful fringe laced down the side of the shoe.

If you are looking for more of a grunge feel, throw a chunky sweater over dark wash skinny jeans and leather booties. The perfect pair of booties to complete this look would be Jimmy Choo’s “Blaine Leopard-Print Strap Bootie.” You will look like you have just stepped off of the runway!
