Every morning I walk onto campus before 7 a.m. and I am in awe with the sea of fashionable Carioca style. This winter, quite a chilly one for Rio’s standards, has allowed Fashionistas/os to showcase all of their hidden accessories never worn throughout the extremely hot weather. There are so many unique outfits, working different kind of leggins, boots, scarves, sweaters…
The color of this Fashionista’s booties were what first drew me to approach her. When I first spotted her, I was sure her booties were a dark blue hue. Upon asking her, she told me she believes they are a dark green color. Once I got home and took a closer look at her photographs, I was sure they were gray! I guess the mysterious color and mythical feel are what made me so attracted to these booties, specifically in a world full of black and brown boots. Its simple lines and sleek design allow the Fashionista to pair it up with just about anything, providing her comfort and warmth. Color is always a great accessory and an extremely easy way to spice up any outfit. Look for funky, greenish booties at Urban Outfitters and gorgeous blue booties at Topshop.
Other great touches in her outfit are her transformed T-shirt, which she cut off the collar herself, and her denim backpack, that I mentioned I adored last week in my STYLE GURU BIO. Similar models can be found at Tilly’s, Volcom and American Apparel.
Spotted: Black, brown and print boots at the fall 2012 ready-to-wear Missoni fashion show.
