Well folks, we’re half way into September and reality has officially sunk in. Back to the books, the late nights, the early mornings, the running to your 8 a.m. lecture—what bliss. Back to school is always an exciting time of the year. It’s a fresh start and with a fresh start comes a fresh wardrobe! Transitioning into fall is always a highlight of going back to school. For some, letting go of summer is a challenge, and the awkward transition from summer to fall is always a struggle when getting ready. Statement necklaces are a great versatile piece which can be worn season after season. If you’re struggling to hang up your coral statement necklace, fear not—the necklace is here to stay!
Necklaces are a great transition piece, which can be styled for every season; from a summer wedding to celebrating New Years Eve, you will forever be on-trend. I have a newfound obsession with necklaces. You can never go wrong by adding a little bling. It instantly adds glamor to your outfit and pulls the whole look together. I am a total fan of wearing summer colours in the fall/winter months to add a pop of colour. If you want to stay on trend, the colours for this season which I am especially excited about include cobalt blue, emerald and burnt orange. Can you say obsessed? Also, while we’re on the topic of trends, have you seen all the leopard print? I wonder if there’s such thing as a leopard print statement necklace. I would totally buy one.
I spotted this Fashionista wearing a gorgeous metallic statement necklace. Metallic is a great option when you want to add some sophistication to your ensemble. She paired her necklace with a pair of dark denim skinny jeans and an oversized giraffe sweater (too cute). I love how she puts an edgy urban twist on a more casual look. To top it off, she wore a hot pink and black studded bracelet, a couple statement rings and a pair of blue suede shoes. I love a Fashionista who isn’t afraid to accessorize. Overall her outfit is fun and casual—perfect for a day of class.
Spotted: J.Crew incorporated lots of bold necklaces in its ready-to-wear fall 2013 collection
