Who doesn’t love a good accessory that just redefines and “fiercifies?” I know I absolutely do. One trend that has been doing just that around campus is the black floppy hat. This week’s Fashionista was spotted around campus rocking an awesome and chic outfit with her black floppy hat to top it all off (no pun intended). When worn, this hat exudes a sultry sense of femininity. That is just enough of a statement piece to really speak on it’s own account.
Let’s take a look at how our Fashionista accompanies her fabulous hat and get some inspiration: Her black knee-length peacoat evokes a very Parisian and feminine look. This modest length plays on the chic story that her hat has so strongly begun to tell. To give her outfit some patterned dimension she has chosen a patterned black and gold dress to really stand out from behind her coat. Her dress is close to her coat in length and this perfect pair, with the right black tights, looks very sophisticated. To seal her look of soft sophistication she is wearing a pair of black booties with a very modest heel.
Although our Fashionista has strategically accessorized her hat to evoke a very chic and mature wintertime look, the truth is that this headwear choice has a wide versatility. How? Well, in the spring time we can even pair our favorite high-rise shorts, “sunnies” and graphic tee with our floppy hat for a fun and fresh look. However in the summer weather I would advise all Fashionistas/os wanting to rock the black floppy hat to sway away from dark color hat choices as darker colors absorb the sun’s rays and will cause us to warm up.
