In like a lion, out like a lamb. March is here and that means glorious spring weather is so close I can almost hear the birds chirping. I can almost feel a warm breeze, almost smell fresh cut grass…almost. However, until the first flower bud blossoms likes a gentle little lamb come the spring solstice, I’m afraid we’ll have the survive the last few lion-like weeks of bitter cold in style. Some Fashionistas and Fashionistos, inspired by the cold weather, are keeping it cool with edgy looks.
This Fashionista looks ready to battle the last few weeks of winter. She is on trend with her camo print jacket, but her accessories really steal the show. She is owning what has proven to be the accessory of the season; that’s right, I’m talking about the beanie. Tons of celebrities from Taylor Momsen to Taylor Swift have hopped on the beanie bandwagon. What is great about these little hats is that they serve a double purpose for winter, not only are they super trendy but they will keep your ears warm. Oh, and they are the perfect solution to a bad hair day. Urban Outfitters offer a great selection.
What else is this Fashionista doing right? Her footwear. These tall Hunter Boots are an absolute staple wardrobe item and they come in a variety of cute colors. Who wants to ruin a cute pair of shoes while walking to class in snow and slush? The answer is simple: no one. These rain boots are a functional and versatile solution. While they compliment this look perfectly, they can easily be worn with a pair of tights and a dress and look just as great.
So hang in there, Fashionistas. Spring is coming soon. Until then, turn the heat up with a beanie and stomp through slush in style.
