One of the top trends of 2014 are vintage-inspired looks, as Zooey Deschanel demonstrated without flaw at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. With everything from dainty pearls to big and bold rhinestones back in style right now, the more bling, the better. Today’s Fashionista is the perfect example of why these items are so in style and why they have been for multiple seasons now. Seriously, I’m pretty sure vintage will never go out of style. Plus, who doesn’t love raiding their mom’s closet?
Although this Fashionista’s outfit was on the opposite spectrum of Zooey’s Golden Globes dress, she added a vintage flair to her simple polka-dot ensemble with a rhinestone statement bib necklace, pearl stud earrings and a golden hair bow. She then adapted her cute and casual look for walking around campus with a fur hooded jacket and Wayfarer sunglasses. Her choice of accessories were the perfect addition to her otherwise simple outfit. This Fashionista’s gold hair bow, my favorite part of her ensemble, was just the right size to attract attention to her pearl studs and sunglasses without upstaging the rest of her outfit.
Spotted: The Lanvin fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection has an overall vintage feel created by dark colors, long gloves, fringe and fur. The vintage undertones of Lanvin’s collection were enhanced by the abundance of rhinestone and pearl statement necklaces.
