As much as it makes us cringe, it’s almost time to go back to school. Although it’s not quite as enjoyable to pick out school supplies as it was in elementary school (or maybe I was the only nerd back in the day), it’s just as fun going shopping for new outfits and accessories.
With every great outfit must come a cute backpack. I was considering getting a plain black backpack from The North Face because my most recent backpack broke, but after seeing dozens of Fashionistas/os around campus toting their chic backpacks, I’ve decided that it’s time to invest in a cuter one. I mean, I’m not going hiking anytime soon, so I think a smaller bag would be perfect.
This week’s Fashionista used her backpack as an accessory to her ensemble. Her polka-dot leather backpack looks like a more practical version of a purse. No longer will one shoulder throb anymore with this comfortable accessory holding your heavy books and laptop. This Fashionista carried her backpack atop her floral dress with sunglasses and suede flats.
Once an accessory that was just used for necessity, the backpack is has gotten a major upgrade in the fashion world. In case you doubt my beliefs, I have proof that I am not the only person who thinks that the next “it” accessory is the backpack. Just last week, I read an article on Teen Vogue’s website about the 100 best backpacks for fall. The backpack has officially made it into the world of high fashion.
I wish the best to all of you Fashionistas/os starting school soon. The first few weeks can be rough, transitioning back into the grind of balancing school work with a social life, but I can guarantee that investing in a cute backpack will point you in the right direction.
