As spring rolls around everyone brings out pastels, florals and beautiful spring shades. While they are a refreshing change to the usual all black attire of most city dwellers, I tend to miss black wardrobes in the spring. Now it can often be difficult to make a black look seem fresh and nice for the new season, this week our Fashionista nails it.
Our Fashionista took a new spin on spring—keeping things monochrome and simple. She started with a great base, a black shift dress. The shift dress is a must have for any Fashionista in the spring, a great canvas ready for accessories to transform it into a look!
Her accessories are what make the outfit, starting at the bottom; our Fashionista has on a flawless pair of strappy sandals. Finding the perfect black sandal for your looks can be a tedious task but this Fashionista has it covered. Next she has on a black and white color-blocked handbag. This semi-structured bag is a great addition to any outfit and perfect for any season. Next, our Fashionista has on some bright white nail polish. This trend has been all over the FIT campus recently and I love it!
Our Fashionista chose some amazing black round sunglasses; this is a necessity and who doesn’t love some new sunglasses to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation? Round glasses don’t work for everyone, I stick to my classic black Wayfarers they are my go-to glasses. Our Fashionista has on a great bold lip. Recently lipstick has been my favorite accessory, depending on my mood I switch between a bright pink and deep red. Skin tones determine what colors would work best with you, but I suggest trying them all, new lipstick is one of my favorite things and is always great addition to any summer look! The oversized fedora that our Fashionista has on is the perfect accessory to top off her black look. Oversized hats are a necessary summer accessory. Not only will you look chic, but you’ll also keep the UV rays off of your face!
