As summer begins to wind down you can’t help but think of the miserable amounts of packing you must do before school. But hey, don’t forget going back to school gives you the perfect excuse to shop and buy a few things for yourself. The most important accessory since way back in kindergarten all the way through college is a backpack. Even though you may force yourself to lug around a trendy bag everyone knows the easiest way to get your books where they need to be is with a backpack. And who ever said backpacks can’t be cute?
This Fashionista definitely defied the odds of boring backpacks when I found her walking around campus. Her colorful printed Vera Bradley bag was a perfectly effortless way to add a little fun to her outfit. After asking to take a peek inside I found that her bag is not only stylish but it is very roomy too! This backpack could double as carry-on luggage for a vacation or even a bag for an overnight trip.
The hardest part of buying a backpack is finding the right one for you. There are so many different styles, patterns and textiles to choose from. Many Fashionistas today are wearing leather backpacks or backpacks with hints of leather. Bold prints like stripes or multicolored patterns are a fun change from your old backpack. One of my favorite trends this season is fringe and where better to have some than on your brand new backpack. If you’re looking to keep it simple, there are neutral colored backpacks that stand out for their simplicity. No matter which backpack you choose you are sure to make a statement when you get back to school!
Spotted: Chanel used backpacks with hints of leather in the fall 2010 ready-to-wear collection. A bag like this is perfect for the fall and even into the winter!
